Rev. Duane P. Smith, Senior Pastor
Pastor Duane & Cristina, together with their sons, Nathan, Michael and Jacob, have been with us since January of 2007. Their connection to our church is through church members, Lee & Ruth White, who are college friends of Cristina's (departed) parents, missionaries Bob and Alice Thompson.
Both Duane & Cristina received their Bible education at Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary (now, Calvary University) in Kansas City, MO. Duane received his Pastoral Degree and Cristina her Biblical Counseling and Music Degree. Duane was ordained to the Gospel ministry on September 20, 1998. He is originally from Ladysmith, WI and is the youngest of five siblings. Cristina was born to missionary parents in Brazil, South America and has dual citizenship with the country of Brazil. It is a joy to have them!
Rev. Smith's style of preaching is Expository (a form of preaching that details the meaning of a particular text or passage of Scripture; it explains what the Bible means by what it says) and typically, a book of the Bible is preached during a sermon series.
Duane served as many years as Chairman of the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc. prior to the mission's merger with Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission, and now is a board member of the latter. He is the president of the local Allamakee County Food Shelf. Together, the Smiths have led many overseas mission trips to Brazil, South America.
Cristina ministers to the church family through Women's Ministries, encouraging the body of Christ, Administrative Assistant and Worship Coordinator.
