ARTHUR CLOCKSIN
I am originally from the upstate New York area. At age 14, a crusade evangelist came to my city and I heard and understood the Gospel message for the first time. When I stepped forward at the invitation to receive Jesus Christ as my Savior, the course of my life was forever changed. After high school, I attended a Bible college and obtained my B.A. degree in Humanities. While living in the Rochester NY area, I was active in a church for twenty-five years. At the age of 43, I met my wife, Susan, and eventually made the big move to the Midwest, which has been our home for the past twenty years. I enjoy serving as a Deacon and working in a spirit of unity with my fellow Deacons. One of my greatest desires is to see our church grow and have a spiritual impact upon the Waukon community.

LARRY GELO
I grew up on a rural farm in Postville, IA and came to know the Lord as my personal Savior at a young age. My parents began attending First Baptist Church when I was 8 years old. In 1970, I married my high-school sweetheart, JoAnn, and together we began a business named, “Gelo Sharpening Service" which later also became an Antique Mall. During this time I was an insurance adjuster at German Farmers Insurance and, later, was employed by the Allamakee Community School District as a full-time bus driver for 24 years. In my spare time, I enjoy flying planes! It has been a joy for me to be involved in the ministries at First Baptist for many years, including AWANA, for 45 years. My greatest joy has been when I have the privilege to pray alongside someone who has decided to put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ. It has been my pleasure to serve on the deacon board for many years. I am always learning from my fellow deacons and I appreciate them. I am also thankful for our pastor who remains true to God's Word. I feel that God is leading our church to be a lighthouse in this community for years to come. "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6

PAUL PROMNITZ
I was born in Waukon and grew up on a dairy farm owned by my parents. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at age 16 at a Lowell Lundstrom Crusade. A desire to be fed spiritually drew the family to First Baptist Church shortly there after. About three months later I was baptized and became a member of First Baptist. Four years later I met Brenda, daughter of the then-new Pastor at First Baptist, and in 1982, we were married at the same. God blessed us with three wonderful children who are now grown and have families of their own. I have served in different capacities in the church over the years: Youth group, Sunday School, AWANA leader, and Deacon for many years. The fellowship has been a very important part of my adult life. My prayer is that the First Baptist Church family will continue to share the love and grace of Jesus with each other, our community, and around the world through our supported missionaries until our Lord returns.
