REV. DUANE P. SMITH, SENIOR PASTOR
Pastor Duane & Cristina, together with their sons, Nathan, Michael, and Jacob, have been with us since January 2007. Duane received his undergraduate degree in 1993 in Pastoral Studies from Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO, and was ordained to the Gospel ministry on September 20, 1998. In May 2023, he earned his Masters of Arts degree in Ministry from Carolina University - Piedmont Divinity School.
The Lord led the couple to their first Pastorate position in Marshfield, WI, where they served as Assistant Pastor & wife for 8.5 years. God blessed the Smiths with three sons in Marshfield: Nathan, Michael, and Jacob. In January 2007, the Smiths moved to Waukon, IA to assume the role of Senior Pastor & wife, and they have been with us since. What a blessing they are to our church and community!
Pastor Smith is originally from Ladysmith, WI and the youngest of five siblings. His style of preaching is Expository (a form of preaching that details the meaning of a particular text or passage of Scripture; it explains what the Bible means by what it says) and typically, a book of the Bible is preached during a sermon series.
Duane served for many years as Chairman of the Brazil Inland Mission, Inc. prior to the mission's merger with BGFM-Global, and now is a board member of the latter. He is the president of the local Allamakee County Food Shelf. Together, the Smiths have led many overseas mission trips to Brazil, South America and Biblical tours of Israel. It is a joy to have them!
