Adam & Hannah Gosse

LET’S GET TO KNOW…THE GOSSES BETTER (pronounced “Guss-ies”)
Adam, Hannah, Benaiah, and soon-coming-to-this-world, baby GIRL…are quickly becoming familiar faces to our church family! Adam was born in Appleton, WI and grew up in Green Bay, WI. Hannah was born in Waterloo, IA and grew up on the outskirts of Oelwein. She was homeschooled her entire school career and Adam attended Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran School in Green Bay, WI. The couple met at Nicolet Bible Institute, which is on the property of Silver Birch Ranch (a Christian camp) in northern WI. And, yes, they know International Evangelist and Trumpeter, Don Shire, who used to live on/near the property of the camp! In fact, Hannah overlapped one college year with Don’s grandson. What a small world it is!
Hannah was born into a Christian family and grew up hearing about the Lord – she simply believed Him to be her Savior since a young age. Adam had also believed in Jesus Christ since he was quite young, but when he turned 18 years of age, he solidified his faith in God. “We both grew up in Christian homes with wonderful parents and siblings!” exclaimed Hannah. Adam is the second youngest of 5 boys and Hannah is the oldest of 11 siblings! They were married in June 2024.
Adam is employed at Village Creek Bible Camp (Lansing, IA) and runs the Challenge Course and is multi-talented, serving wherever he is needed. Hannah is a stay-at-home mom, raising 14-month-old Benaiah, and has a baking and cake decorating business out of her home. They are excited to meet their baby girl in August! They also both love horseback riding, hiking, and anything to do with nature. When younger, Hannah attended a few church family retreats at VCBC, and her grandpa also served on the board. Upon graduating from college, Adam felt led by God to pursue full-time camp ministry, and had several interviews at other Bible camps, but they all fell through. Hannah casually mentioned VCBC to Adam, but told her that he “would never move to Iowa!” Well, he prayerfully decided to apply, just to see what would happen. He was hired shortly after! “It’s funny how God works like that!” declared Hannah. Upon moving to Waukon (just across the street from Mike & Diane Roth!), they first heard of FBC at camp. “We love the traditional style and family-feel of FBC. This congregation loves each other well, and we could feel that right away!”
Adam’s favorite Scripture passages are Psalm 143:7-8 and Hannah’s is Habakkuk 3:17-19. One of their professors at college once stated, “never doubt in the dark what God has told you in the light.” This is the couple’s encouragement to the FBC church family – to witness God’s faithfulness in each person’s life. Isaiah 65:24 – “Before they call, I will answer; while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Hannah asserts, “In all our growing up years and now into our own adult lives with our children, we have never seen the Lord fail us. He has always provided exactly what we need, when we need it, and sometimes even before we ask!”
Welcome to the First Baptist Church family, Gosses, you are a special part of us!
